My name is Nazmus, and I enjoy watching your videos. You have convinced me to try linux once again. I have tried Ubuntu in the past, and it was neat. However, I still preferred windows because it was easier to use and productive for me. However, after watching your videos, I decided to give other distros a try, namely Zorin OS and Linux Mint. However, I realized that they were a lot like windows. Yes, the learning curve was smaller, but then, if I wanted a windows experience, why not just use Windows! If i am going to take my time to use linux, I wanted a different experience, but an experience that was not as overwhelming to a new user like me.
Finally, you made a video on Ubuntu 11.04 Unity UI. I decided to try it yesterday and I have to tell you that I love it! For the first time ever Linux felt tlike it was aimed at newbes like me without relying on looking like windows. It was different and easy, which made it a very fun experience. It remined me of the simplicity of the iPad. One home button took me to my aps, and it was very clean and professional.
I understand that many linux users do not like the Unity UI. That's because they have to now relearn a new experience. But for a windows user like me, I have to relearn both gnome and unity. So why would I not want to relearn the one that is more easy to use, more fun, and looks nicer? Just because it is different, doesn't mean it is bad. I love it!
I think Ubuntu made a very good move in trying to simplify linux. Yes, Zorin is very nice, but it is the same experience I get in using Windows! I urge you to try this: Pretend you know nothing about linux and the Gnome UI, and try Unity UI without comparing it to gnome. It will be different but fun! I know you like Unity UI, but for me, a newbe, it is a lifesaver!
I would like to thank you for making these great videos. I really enjoy them and will be looking foward for more. I wanted to share some thoughts from a Windows user's prospective, which is me! Thanks for reading this, and I will see you sometimes in the future.
If you have got Windows 7 you don't need to install third party software to burn CDs or ISO files onto a CD or DVD.Because Windows image disk burner included in Windows Explorer.
And it is in all editions of Windows 7,including Windows 7 Starter. You can use this to back up your files or burn ISO files to a CD or DVD. And Windows will also verify the ISO Disk. I download my Linux ISO files and burn them to the DVD using Windows 7s Windows disk burner.
But it is only Windows 7 that has this. So if you have got Windows XP or Windows Vista,then you do have to install third party software to burn CDs.Andrea Borman.
