Pixelbooks are pretty nice, but are also very expensive for what it is. Maybe when ChromeOS isn't quite an OS with features tacked on like afterthoughts, higher end hardware might be worth it. Right now, I don't see paying more than ~$400 for what is still heavily browser focused when one could get a decent laptop and put Linux on it. Not saying Chromebooks are bad as I love mine, just that $1,000+ is too much.
